Congratulations to Miss. Khanom and Mr. Hussain on their incredible achievements! Earning a black belt is a significant milestone, and it’s even more impressive to see Miss. Khanom achieve 3rd Dan and Mr. Hussain reach 2nd Dan. Their dedication and hard work are truly commendable.

It’s also great to highlight the journey it takes to reach these levels. The progression through the Dan system really shows the commitment, discipline, and continuous learning required to master the art of Taekwondo.

Miss. Khanom: I joined Silverback Taekwondo in the summer of 2022 having been out of training since Covid. I had already achieved my second degree black belt.
I joined Silverback and the ETA because I wanted to train in an environment where there is serious attention to detail, and a unified approach to achieving perfection. I wanted an instructor who would watch and critique every movement from preparation to execution. Mr Uddin makes me do things again and again until they are perfect.
It was a very long and difficult road to Third Dan but I finally feel quite proficient in what I have learnt so far. I feel as though I have really been tried and tested and have therefore earned my promotion. I look forward to continuing my journey with team Silverback.

Mr. Hussain: Alhamdulilah, I am super ecstatic and proud that I have accomplished one of the steps towards my goals. Hey no resting now. On to the next target.

As part of the process, Mr Hussain. also participated in a 3-step sparring session with Mr. Tran, a 5th Dan black belt. This experience not only demonstrated his skills but also provided a valuable opportunity for growth under the guidance of an experienced practitioner.
