After a short break due to the fasting month and a recent trip to Bangladesh for a competition, Hedgecock classes resumed on 14/04 and Feldy classes resumed on 18/04.
As some of our students returned from the Bangladesh competition, Mr Uddin welcomed our international competitors with compliments and shared a few words of encouragement. He also offered advice to those who were not able to attend this time, highlighting the importance of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice in achieving such great success.
While listening, the students who did not attend the competition were in awe of their classmates’ achievements and felt truly inspired by their journey.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a part in making this tour such a tremendous success. From our dedicated students and supportive parents to our ever-reliable admin team (yes, even the one who diligently took the minutes — we haven’t forgotten you, LOL), every single contribution mattered.
This journey has been more than just a trip; it has been the realisation of a long-held dream. Since beginning his martial arts career in the 1990s, Mr Uddin had two clear ambitions: to establish his own school and share his knowledge, and to one day take his students to compete internationally — particularly in his home country of Bangladesh. Having achieved his black belt, he went on to open his own dojo and inspire countless students. Seeing this second dream come to life has been nothing short of monumental, and it stands as a testament to the collective effort of everyone involved.

A special thank you goes to those who travelled independently to be part of the experience — your commitment has not gone unnoticed and has left a lasting impression on both us and our hosts in Bangladesh.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to one incredible mother who made the journey with her two daughters despite her husband being unable to attend due to work commitments. Your dedication, strength and support truly embody the spirit of this team, and we are incredibly grateful.
A special mention must also go to one father who kept the group entertained throughout — even if not all the jokes quite landed (LOL!). In all seriousness, his true leadership shone when it mattered most. He stepped up to challenges without ever being asked, took responsibility, and quietly ensured things got done — often behind the scenes. From assembling what needed assembling to supporting wherever required, his efforts did not go unnoticed.
We would also like to recognise another father who led by example through his generosity and charitable nature. His kindness towards the group, and more importantly towards those less fortunate, has left a lasting impression on many of us. It stands as an inspiration to all.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to those who supported our students in demonstrations and contributed greatly to preparations and overall efforts but were unfortunately unable to join us on this trip. Your input, time and dedication played a vital role in making this journey possible, and you were very much with us in spirit.
We also sincerely appreciate the parents who stepped in during the inevitable hiccups along the way, whether at the airport, in hotels, or anywhere in between. Your support, patience and teamwork made all the difference.
Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the family members, loved ones, and classmates who were unable to join us on this journey. Your encouragement, support, and belief in us from afar meant more than words can express, and you were very much a part of this experience in spirit.

This picture was taken back in 2019 at the end-of-year ceremony. A few of the students captured here are still with us today, and it’s incredible to see how much they have grown — not just in skill and experience, but even in the progression of their belts (of course!).
It serves as a powerful reminder that success does not happen overnight. It is built through consistency, patience, and dedication over time. With the wonderful perseverance of the students, along with the continued support of parents and instructors, this journey has been truly rewarding. For those still with the club, it’s inspiring to see how they have developed, growing into mature and confident young adults.
This is not the end — it is only the beginning of even bigger aspirations (and undoubtedly more ambitious ideas from our very own “mad scientist”, Mr Uddin).
